About Quiet Film Co

Founded by filmmaker, Kieran Gilfeather, Quiet Film Co is a considered, intimate and thoughtful videography studio offering a simple path to nostalgia.

Kieran’s experience in the commercial wedding industry inspired him to take a simpler path with Super 8 film: tactile, dreamy and just enough. An artist, poet, lyricist and musician, his eye for beauty and feel for storytelling makes all the difference.

Quiet Film Co treasures realness, connection, and quietude in a busy world, and so we create our films in the spirit of simplicity.

Your Quiet Film is a little window of nostalgia, a joyful, peaceful place for you to relive all the moments that really matter.

What is Super 8?

The classic home-movie medium of the mid-twentieth century, Super 8 is purely analogue: the camera is original vintage and the film is real Kodak celluloid.

The camera is discreet and handheld, the film is silent and soft-focused with a genuine film grain. The result is a dreamy, natural and beautifully unpolished film.

Each roll of Kodak 8mm film is 50ft long and lasts for 3 minutes. Being totally analogue the camera has no

playback function, so the medium demands focus, attention and confidence while the filmmaker tells the story as they see it in the moment.

This confident dedication to each shot produces meaningful and concise films that demand almost no editing.

It really is the most beautiful balance between focused, playful, and special.
